Are the tests available in a different language?
Our tests are currently only available in English. We will be adding different languages in the future, with Spanish and German coming first.
Can I go back to a previous question?
No, you cannot. If you attempt to skip a question, we will warn you that you cannot return. If you are unsure of what the answer to a question is, try guessing. There isn't a penalty for wrong answers. Better to score a point through luck than to skip and guarantee getting no points for that question!
Can I have feedback on my application?
TestGorilla is a software tool used by the company looking to hire. We do not have access to your job application status or feedback on your application. You will need to directly contact the company you applied to for any information regarding your job application.
Can I see my results?
The company you applied to may choose to share your results with you, however, they do not have any obligation to do so. You should contact them directly regarding this. TestGorilla cannot provide the results on their behalf.
Can I take the assessment on a mobile device?
While you can take your assessment on a mobile device, we do not recommend this because the small screen size can make answering questions very difficult. We highly recommend using a laptop or desktop computer, and using Chrome as a browser.
Additionally, if your assessment contains a test of your programming skills, you will be shown a warning that discourages you from taking the assessment on a mobile device. This is because writing code on a mobile device is so difficult.
Can I try the assessment again?
No. Your invitation link is single-use and will expire as soon as you have completed your assessment. If you are concerned about your performance and would like to take the assessment again, we recommend contacting the company you applied to directly. The decision to allow you to try again is entirely at their discretion. TestGorilla cannot help you with this.
Can you help me find a job?
Unfortunately not. We are not a job placement service. We provide pre-employment skills assessments for companies who are actively hiring. We recommend Indeed, LinkedIn, and similar forums if you are actively looking for work!
I have a condition that affects my ability to memorize or concentrate. Do you provide accommodations for me?
Yes! Conditions such as dyslexia, ADD, and ADHD may affect your memory and concentration abilities and be a hindrance in taking an assessment. At the start of your assessment, you can request an accommodation.
Note: Unless you specifically give us permission to inform your prospective employer that you requested an accommodation, we do not reveal this to them. You are under no legal obligation to disclose this.
How do I contact the company I applied to?
You'll need to contact them via any means they have provided in their job posting or on their company website. Replying to your assessment invitation email sends your reply to TestGorilla, not the company. We do not have contact details we can share for the potential employer.
I am using a public invitation link, but my email address is not accepted. What should I do?
First, check that your email address is typed correctly. All email addresses are processed through an email validation service that will not permit the use of high risk emails.
If your email contains a lot of numbers or random characters, your address may be mistaken for a fraudulent account. If your email address is definitely correct and it is still not being accepted, please contact us.
I don't have a webcam and my assessment has video questions. What should I do?
You should directly contact the company that sent you the assessment. It is recommended to contact the company to make alternate arrangements. TestGorilla cannot help you with this.
I followed the link but it says, "The assessment is no longer available"/"The assessment is currently unavailable".
This is something in the control of the company you applied to. It could be that they have already closed their assessment. You should contact the company directly, as TestGorilla cannot make the assessment available if a company has chosen to take if offline.
I have completed my assessment. What happens next?
Your assessment ends with the following message: “Thanks for completing this assessment. You can close this window now.” Please note that at this point, your answers are saved and made available to the hiring company. You do not receive a confirmation email regarding the completion of your assessment.
Please note that TestGorilla does not play any part in the decision-making process. The decisions are made solely by the hiring company. As such, we cannot provide you with updates or time frames.
I haven't received my email invitation. What should I do?
If you are expecting an invitation from us, please first check your spam/junk folder. If it's there, mark the email as Not junk. If it is not there, contact us.
I need a personality test/PAR/certificate of language proficiency for my job.
We do not offer this service. We do not offer any of our tests for personal use, studying, or educational purposes, nor do we issue certificates of completion.
I need more time to complete my assessment.
If the company has set a deadline, you should take the appropriate steps to complete the assessment within that time frame. If this is not possible, you should contact the company you applied to. TestGorilla has no control over the time frames set by the company.
I received a reminder, but I have already finished my assessment.
Your assessment ends with the following message: “Thanks for completing this assessment. You can close this window now.” You should double-check your assessment to ensure it is fully completed by following the link on the reminder email.
Sometimes, companies have additional questions at the end of the assessment which can be missed if you finish too early. Missed questions could result in you missing points from your final score, so it is always best to check! They may have also invited you to more than one assessment. If it has definitely been completed, please contact us.
I want to take a test.
We do not offer any of our tests for personal use, studying, or educational purposes, nor do we issue certificates of completion.
I was disconnected from the internet. When I reconnected, my test was finished.
Your timer continued to count down, even though you left the test. This is a measure to protect the integrity of the test results.
This measure applies to all candidates, even if you are having technical difficulties. If this happened, please contact the company you applied to directly to discuss any accommodation.
My camera display is blank/black.
This can happen for a number of reasons. Here is what you can do to try and remedy it:
Ensure you have granted permission for your browser to access your camera.
Ensure you are using a supported browser. Safari is not currently compatible with video questions, so you would need to use a different browser.
If you have multiple camera devices, ensure you have given your browser and our website permission to use the right device.
Try launching the assessment in incognito mode/in a private window.
Ensure your camera drivers and web browser are up to date.
Restart your device and try accessing the assessment again using the link in the invitation email.
If none of these steps work, please contact us for further assistance.
The assessment ended after only a few questions.
It is likely that the company you applied for has included qualifying questions in their assessment. These are used to ensure that only candidates who meet their requirements can take the full assessment. If your answers disqualify you, you will not take the full assessment. This helps you save time.
If you believe you have been disqualified by mistake, you should contact the company that invited you directly. TestGorilla has no authority to allow you to retake the assessment.
The questions are loading slowly/My test has frozen.
This is usually an internet connectivity issue. If your internet connection is slow or intermittent, you may face issues with questions/images loading and saving your answers. We recommend running an internet speed test before beginning your assessment to ensure you have a reliable connection with adequate speed. While a higher speed is great, reliability is key! Disconnections, no matter how short, can interrupt communication between your device and our servers.
For extra peace of mind, use an ethernet connection where possible, or locate yourself as close to your wi-fi router as you can.
We do not recommend using public wifi connections unless you have no other option. These connections are usually shared with many other people, resulting in less stable and far slower-than-average speeds.
What happens if I run out of time?
If the timer expires on your test, your progress up to that point is saved and submitted to the company.
When should I contact TestGorilla, and when should I contact the hiring company?
Contact us if you are experiencing any technical difficulties during your test, or to provide feedback about the assessment content.
For everything else (deadlines, test content, the status of your application, etc.) we recommend contacting the company for the fastest and most direct answers, as TestGorilla does not have access to this information.
Why can't I log in/create an account?
Candidates do not need to log in or create an account. To take an assessment, you must be invited via email by the company you applied to. This is the only way to access the assessment.
Why did the timer continue counting down when I left the test?
This is one of our measures to ensure the integrity of the test results. This cannot be turned off, under any circumstances. Even if you completely close the test window, the timer will continue to count down. Breaks should only be taken in between tests.
This is standard practice for any website or service that captures information from you. It states how we store your information and whom it is shared with, in compliance with GDPR. If you do not accept, you will be unable to take your assessment.
Why do I have to accept cookies?
We ask you to allow cookies on the very first screen of your assessment. These cookies allow us to monitor the technical aspects of your test. This greatly assists us with providing technical support to you should something go wrong, as we can identify exactly where any errors have occurred.
You have the legal right to decline cookies. However, if you choose to do so, we will be unable to provide you with any technical support.
Why do you need access to my webcam?
We need access to your camera for 2 reasons:
We take snapshots of you while you are taking your assessment, every 30 seconds, as part of our proctoring measures. This is to ensure that you are taking the assessment alone (i.e. nobody is helping you) and to ensure that the same person who takes the assessment is the person who is ultimately interviewed or hired. Only the company you applied to has access to these snapshots and they are stored in compliance with GDPR. Note: the company inviting you for your assessment may have disabled this snapshot feature. In this case, no snapshots will be taken. However, if there are video questions in your assessment, you will still need to enable your webcam.
If the company has set any video questions, we need access to your camera for you to be able to record your answers. Again, only the company has access to these and they are stored in compliance with GDPR.
You can deny access to your camera and still take the assessment, but bear in mind that the company you’re applying to will have no way to ensure that it was you and only you taking this assessment. It also means you can not record answers to video questions.
